Ted
Kennedy Watson
Ted Kennedy
Watson named his businesses Watson Kennedy in honor of his
father Kennedy Watson. Kennedy was his father's first name
and is Ted's middle name. Ted moved to Seattle in 1986 to
be a pro at the Seattle Tennis Club and later became President
of the Pacific Northwest Professional Tennis Association.
A consummate gift giver, he was asked to be part of the creative
team for the Bill Gates/Melinda French wedding event while
still teaching tennis.
In the Spring of 1994,
he began his wholesale business, The Watson Kennedy Collection.
Decorating magazine states, "from tennis pro to taste maker."
His attention to detail, talent for display, and love of beautiful
objects were the impetus for the opening of his two stores.
"I feel the shops are
an extension of my homes. To make people feel comfortable,
provide a beautiful setting, surrounded by lovely things.
Gracious living and gift giving are such key aspects of who
I am. The shops are a reflection of my life, my travels, the
things I love"
Ted's homes have been featured in Country Living, Better Homes & Gardens, Seattle Homes & Lifestyles, Pacific Northwest magazine, House Beautiful, and on HGTV's Homes Across America.
When not overseeing the
stores, he loves spending time with his partner, Theodore
Sive, at their beachside cottage on Vashon Island.
